Bro. Alsberry is presently serving as the South Central Workforce Investment Board’s Deputy Director. This position oversees and directly supervises the Operations and the Quality Assurance Staff. Additional job functions include serving as the South Workforce Investment Area’s EO/ADA Officer, overseeing the (8) County CareerLink’s EO Liaisons as well as overseeing the EO/ADA policies, procedures and complaints from the eight county region’s Careerlinks and the South Central Workforce Investment Area ‘s contractors, training providers, and programs. Additionally, he assists the Executive Director and the Chief Financial Officer in the South Central WIB planning, policy development, and the operational & annual Budget.


Bro. Alsberry has served as Deputy Director of Tri-County Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC); Manpower Planner/Program Evaluation Specialist for the City of Harrisburg; and, Cost Accountant for a Major Trucking Manufacturing Corporation, Middletown, PA.


He holds an Associate Degree in Accounting from Harrisburg Area Community College; and, a Bachelor Degree in Accounting and Economics from Howard University, Washington D.C.

Bro. Capt. Bridges is a Spring 2002 initiate of Kappa Alpha Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, Inc. located in Columbia, MD. He grew up in Atlanta, GA and graduated from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University in 1992 with a B.S. in Computer Information Systems, then earned an M.S. in Information Technology Management in 2003 from the Naval Postgraduate School. In 2006, he was selected for the Legislative Fellowship Program where he worked on the personal staff of U.S. Representative Norm Dicks, Ranking Member on House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee. In 2010, he deployed to Port-au-Prince, Haiti on short notice in support of Operation Unified Response earthquake relief efforts. He was also honored at the 2011 Black Engineer of the Year Awards as a Modern Day Technology Leader. Since 2012, Bro. Capt. Bridges has been Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Process and Planning Directorate deputy director.

Bro. Durrell Burns is a Spring 2018 initiate of Zeta Theta Lambda. Bro. Burns is from Harrisburg, PA, and graduated from SciTech High School in 2011 and Millersville University in 2015. He is an educator at Harrisburg High School, and a minister at New Life Church of Harrisburg. Bro. Burns is married to the lovely Latoya Burns. He is the proud father of 4 daughters. Bro. Burns is very active in the Harrisburg, PA community through his church and his position as an educator.

Bro. Cabbagestalk is a 2008 Initiate of Zeta Theta Lambda. Previous service to the chapter includes service as Vice President, Secretary, and chair of both the Black & Gold Ball and Gentlemen & Scholars Program committees. An IT professional with over 15 years experience, Bro. Cabbagestalk holds a degree in Computer Information Systems from SUNY Buffalo and serves as an IT manager at The Pennsylvania State University. A native of New York City, Bro. Cabbagestalk is married and the proud father of two daughters.


Financial Secretary

Bro. Raymond "Ray" Chambers, Jr. was initiated into the Zeta Theta Lambda Chapter in 2009. He served as Chapter President from 2013-2015, and has served as Financial Secretary since 2015. He was born in Suffolk, VA, the third of four children. He relocated to the Harrisburg area in 1974, where he received his Associated Degree in Pre-Engineering from Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and is employed by Gannett Fleming . He has been married for more than 20 years and has two children.

Raised in Pittsburgh, Bro. Coleman is a 2008 initiate of Zeta Theta Lambda. He holds a bachelor's degree from North Carolina Central University. He is a management professional, and has worked for the State of Pennsylvania and Deloitte. He has been married for over 15 years.


Director of Information Technology

Bro. Adrian Michael Corbin, is a Spring 2020 initiate of Zeta Theta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Bro. Corbin was raised in Brooklyn, NY and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology with a concentration in Business Public Administration (2019) from The Pennsylvania State University. Currently, Bro Corbin is working on his Masters of Public Policy focus on Criminal Policy at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park Campus. He is also employed as a Graduate Assistant through the Public Policy program and Graduate Resident Assistant with Residence Life. 



Bro. Anthony Cox is a Spring 2017 initiate of Zeta Theta Lambda Chapter. Bro. Cox received his bachelor of science degree in both Political Science and Criminal Justice from Old Dominion University. Bro. Cox is a 2017 graduate of Widener University Commonwealth Law School, where he was a student ambassador, active with Moot Court, the Black Law Student Association and the Widener Law Journal. Currently, Bro. Cox is pursuing his Master of Business Administration from Auburn University.

Bro. Cox is an attorney with a practice that focuses primarily in civil and administrative litigation. Further, Bro. Cox is the Chief Executive Officer of Cox Career Consulting, a company that Bro. Cox started to assist college students and young adults in reaching their career goals.

Bro. Dr. Emil L. Cunningham, was initiated at Zeta Theta Lambda Chapter in Harrisburg, PA.  Bro. Dr. Cunningham has served as Assistant Advisor to the Gamma Nu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. as well as the Assistant Editor of The Sphinx, the fraternal organ of the Fraternity. Bro. Dr. Cunningham received a BA from Vassar College, an M.Ed. in College Student Affairs and the Ph.D. in Higher Education both from The Pennsylvania State University. Previous employment had him serving as a Student Affairs practitioner and educator with over 10 years of experience. Bro. Dr. Cunningham is currently the Director of Diversity and Inclusion for the Division of Finance and Business at Penn State, University Park. Bro. Dr. Cunningham also has been active in the community. In this regard, he serves as a liaison on numerous town-gown committees and is a mentor to a number of college students. Bro. Dr. Cunningham is married and has a daughter.

Bro. Kameran J. Davis is a Spring 2015 initiate of Zeta Theta Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Bro. Davis was raised in Arkansas and received the BS in Computer Science (2013) from Jackson State University, and the MS in Computer Science & Engineering (2015) from The Pennsylvania State University. Bro. Davis is also a gifted musician, and has been active as church musician, jazz musician, and Minister of Music in various communities.  During his time at Jackson State, he was a proud member of "The BOOM" Marching Band. Bro. Davis is currently employed as an Embedded Software Engineer at Raytheon Missile Systems in Tucson, Arizona. Previous employment includes an R&D Engineer position at Penn State's Applied Research Lab, University Park. He is also an A.F.&A. Mason.

Bro. Jonathan Dumas is a Fall 2012 Initiate of Zeta Theta Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Bro. Dumas received a BS degree from the University of Florida in Animal Science, and a dual titled MS degree from the College of Agricultural Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University. Bro. Dumas is enrolled at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, pursuing his dream of becoming a Veternarian. 



Bro. Early is a 2008 initiate of Zeta Theta Lambda, and is a retired deputy sheriff. He serves as a Deacon at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Steelton, PA. Past service includes chair of various committees, and secretary. He has been married for over 30 years.

Bro. Brandon Erby was initiated into the Gamma Upsilon chapter seated at Tougaloo College in 2009. As a member of Gamma Upsilon, Bro. Erby served as chapter vice-president and president, and was named the Mississippi District’s College Brother of the Year in 2011. He graduated from Tougaloo in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in English and holds a master’s degree in English from Seton Hall University. Currently, Bro. Erby is a PhD student in English and African American Studies at Penn State, University Park, where he also serves as a Graduate Instructor. Bro. Erby is married to the former Grejika Abrams, his lovely college sweetheart.

Bro. Carl Freeman is a Spring 2015 initiate of Zeta Theta Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. A native of Tennessee, Bro. Freeman received his Bachelor's degree from Tennessee State University, and an MBA from Vanderbilt University. He is currently Site Director for the Greater Harrisburg location of Mars, Inc. Bro. Freeman is married, and father of a son.

Bro. Charles E. Gibson III is a Fall 2012 ZΘΛ Initiate and Life Member (#12836) of ΑΦΑ Fraternity, Inc. and the 2016 Pennsylvania Association of Alpha Chapters (PAAC) Alumni Brother of the Year. He served as Chapter President from 2015-2017, and Chief Dean for Area II, District V (PAAC Central) for the 2017-2018 fraternal year. Since 2017, he has served as an IMDP and Risk Management Trainer for Eastern Region. Bro. Gibson was born in Hollywood, CA and raised in Atlanta, GA as the eldest of six children. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wake Forest University (2009), both Master of Arts (2010) & Education Specialist (2011) degrees from Appalachian State University, and is an advanced PhD candidate in higher education at Pennsylvania State University—University Park. Bro. Campbell Goin is a Spring 2020 initiate of Zeta Theta Lambda Chapter of Alpha phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Bro. Goin was raised in Queens, NY and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a concentration in Strategic, Legal and Management Communications from Howard University in December 2018. Dr. Grant holds a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in History from Henderson State University’s Honors College, an M.S. in Art Education with a minor in African American and Diaspora Studies from Penn State, and a dual-title Ph.D. in Art Education and African-American and Diaspora Studies from Penn State (the first person in the world to complete this degree). Bro. Dr. Grant is currently a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Art Education, African and African American Studies, and Gender Studies at University of Arkansas-Fayetteville.

Green is a honors graduate of Eastern Michigan University.  He is a master's candidate in English at The Pennsylvania State University. Bro. Green is a talented musician, and spoken word artist. He serves as advisor for the Penn State W. O. R. D. S. poetry group, and is a proud social activist.


Associate Editor of The Sphinx

Brother Jahmaad Harrell is a Spring 2019 initiate of Zeta Theta Lambda.  Born in New Orleans, Louisiana and raised in McComb, Mississippi, Brother Harrell earned his Associates in General Studies in 2015 from Jones County Community College. Brother Harrell went on to finish his undergraduate work at Mississippi College, in Clinton, Mississippi where he earned his Bachelors in Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science in 2017. He is currently pursuing a Masters in Recreation, Park and Tourism Management from The Pennsylvania State University, where he is also a member of the Black Graduate Student Association, as well as the Recreation, Park and Tourism Management Graduate Student Association.

Bro. Mark Harrison is a 1993 initiate of Zeta Theta Lambda chapter. He holds a BSN from Penn State, University Park, and has over two decades of experience as a registered nurse. Bro. Harrison is married to Mrs. Cheryl Stringer Harrison, and is an avid fan of Penn State football-he's not one to miss watching a game, or attending a nearby tailgate!

Jenkins is currently pursuing a master's degree in counseling psychology at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park.

Dr. Royel M. Johnson is Assistant Professor of Education (Higher Education) within the Department of Education Policy Studies at The Pennsylvania State University, where he is also Research Associate in the Center for the Study of Higher Education. He holds a B.A. in Political Science and Ed.M. in Educational Policy Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and Ph.D. in Higher Education and Student Affairs, with a cognate in Race and Social Policy from Ohio State.  Bro. Johnson is a Fall 2008 initiate of Tau Chapter seated at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Dr. Johnson is a social scientist whose interdisciplinary research aims to improve the educational opportunities, experiences, and outcomes of historically underserved and vulnerable student populations in education. He maintains an active scholarly research agenda, addressing important policy- and practice-relevant issues related to college access, equity and success; student learning and development; and impact of college on students, to name a few.  He is co-editor of a forthcoming book on HBCUs, and has authored over 25 scholarly publications including peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and reports. His work employs qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methodological approaches.

Brother Malcolm Levy is a 2019 initiate of Zeta Theta Lambda. Brother Levy is from Queens New York and attended Lincoln University where he received his Bachelors in History. He works for the Department if the Navy as a Procurement Technician and is enlisted in the Navy Reserves as Information Systems Technician. Bro. Levy currently lives in Harrisburg and has two daughters. 



Bro. Mario Martinez is a Spring 2018 initiate of Zeta Theta Lambda. Bro. Martinez is originally from Houston, TX. He is a proud graduate of Alcorn State University, a land-grant HBCU in Mississippi. He holds a B.S. in Biology. Currently, a master’s student/ visiting scholar at The Pennsylvania State University where he has studied biochemistry, conducted research, and wrote a Thesis. He graduates May 4, 2019 with his M.S. in Biology. Bro. Martinez is active with the Penn State Black Graduate Student Association, MANRRS, and a number of academic organizations and societies. Most recently, Bro. Martinez was promoted to a full-time position as a research technologist at Penn State. He is studying polio virus using HeLa Cell line and characterizing phospholipids via Lipidomic approach. Ultimately, he plans to pursue doctoral studies in Biochemistry.

Bro. Merriweather is a Spring 2002 initiate of Zeta Psi chapter. Past service to Zeta Theta Lambda includes appointments on various committees and Vice President. Bro. Merriweather is an ordained ministed, and holds an MBA from Eastern University. He is happily married to Christina Merriweather, a woman of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. They are the proud parents of two daughters, and reside in New York City. Bro. Merriweather is also active with Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated (The Boule).

Bro. Kenneth L. Mickens (Life Member) was initiated in 1973 at Theta Zeta Chapter (Dartmouth College) where he served as Chapter Secretary.  Bro. Mickens graduated from Dartmouth College in 1976 and the University of Michigan Law School in 1979. He was a supervisory attorney with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission for over 25 years and currently maintains a private legal practice in the Harrisburg area. He previously served as President and Vice President of Zeta Theta Lambda Chapter.  Bro. Mickens currently serves as Chairman of the Deacon Board and Coordinator of the Sunday School at Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Harrisburg. He also previously served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sustainable Energy Fund of Allentown Pennsylvania. Bro. Mickens is married and has two children. His son, Kenneth II, is also a member of Zeta Theta Lambda Chapter.

Brother Dewitt Miller was initiated at Zeta Psi Chapter, at West Chester University, in the Spring of 1989. He graduated from West Chester with a B.A. degree in Communications. Bro. Miller relocated to Harrisburg, PA in 1997 by way of Philadelphia, PA where he was born and raised. Bro. Miller has worked with children and families in crisis for the past 17 years and currently consults and trains through Philadelphia, Lancaster and Bradford Counties. Bro. Miller also manages the Harrisburg State Re-entry and Reunification program. His family includes his wife Toniece and three daughters Noelle, Kennedy and Lundyn.



Alpha Advisor

Bro. Desvan Moody is a Spring 2018 initiate of Zeta Theta Lambda chapter. Bro. Moody is from Baltimore, MD and holds a bachelor's degree from York College of Pennsylvania. He is a college access professional, and started his career at York College as an admissions counselor. He is currently an Associate Director of College Advising at The Baltimore City College in Baltimore, MD - an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School focused on the liberal arts. In addition to working with students in grades nine through twelve prepare for college, he is also involved in a number of community service and professional activities. Among them, includes service as chair of the 2018 Pennsylvania Black Conference on Higher Education (PBCOHE) Meeting.

Bro. Lawrence G. Moore, Jr. was initiated in 1972 at Epsilon Zeta Chapter (Fayetteville State Univerisity) . Bro. Moore graduated from Fayetteville State Univeristy in 1975, with a degree in Business Administration.  Bro. Moore worked as a civilian for the United States Navy for forty years.  He held severalpositions over that time. The most impactful were Supply System Analyst, Supervisor Information Technology Team, Information Tehnology Project Manager. He retired in September 2012. He is currently Chairmen of the Deacon's Mininistry and Chair Administrator at Mounct Olive Baptist Chauch. Bro. Moore is married and has 3 children. 


Area II Director & Chaplain

Bro. Freddie D. Player is a native of Sycamore, Alabama. He graduated from Robert Russa Moton High School (Valedictorian) and Alabama A & M University (With Honors), with a BS Degree in Design Technology. During his professional career as a Department of the Army civilian, he graduated from the prestigious Industrial College of the Armed Forces.


The journey into the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity began at Delta Gamma Chapter, Alabama A & M University. Iota Alpha Lambda at Aberdeen, Maryland was the next stop in this journey. Current membership is at Zeta Theta Lambda Chapter, Harrisburg, PA.


During his professional career, he served in several distinguished positions which included Certifying Official for the Acquisition Logistics Career Field, Army Functional Expert in the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Acquisition Logistics at Defense Acquisition University and Co-Chair of the Army Materiel Command Civilian on the Battlefield Committee Study. The position held at retirement was Director, Integrated Logistics Support Directorate at the U. S. Army Test and Evaluation Command, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland.


Major community affiliations are Central Area (II) Director for the Pennsylvania Association of Alpha Chapters, Zeta Theta Lambda Chapter Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Lifetime Member of the NAACP, past member of the Board of Directors of the Central Pennsylvania March of Dimes. After retiring from the Federal Government in 2005, he has been engaged in his passion and ministry of mentoring young black males. He has been a “Big Brother” to three young men (Little Brothers) in Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region, Scout Leader for Troop 40 of the Boy Scouts, and a volunteer for the Three Star Basketball and Mentoring Foundation.


His hobbies are golf, tennis and archery. He is married, wife’s name is Hattie, and they are the blessed parents of two daughters, Veronica Player and Freda Player.

Bro. Curtis K. Redding, born Babaesu Bey Adibe, Life Member #10171 was initiated at the Psi Chapter at the University of Pennsylvania (PENN) in 1997. At PENN, Bro. Redding served as the chapter Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. He also served as Assistant District Director for the Pennsylvania Association of Alpha Chapters (PAAC). Bro. Redding graduated from the Wharton School of Business in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Spanish minor. He later returned to PENN where he obtained a dual master degree in Nonprofit Administration and Urban Studies. Bro. Redding is a past President of the Zeta Theta Lambda Chapter and Executive Director of the PAAC.


Bro. Redding is an Information Technology Manager at Deloitte Consulting, LLP and has over 15 years of experience. He has been active in the community through his involvement with the Greater Harrisburg Chapter of NBMBAA, where he was a charter member and the Harrisburg High School SBI Mentorship Program. Bro. Redding is also a member of the Beta Pi Boulé of Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity.



Vice President

Bro. Joseph Robinson Jr. was initiated at Iota Beta Chapter at The University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. At Iota Beta and Zeta Theta Lambda Bro. Robinson served as president and secretary. Bro. Robinson graduated from The University of Virginia with a B.A., English. Bro. Robinson currently serves on the board of the Zeta Theta Lambda Foundation.


Bro. Robinson is currently executive director of the South Central PA Sickle Cell Council, having previously served for 26 years in Pa state government. He also has been active in the community. In this regard, he serves as president of The Martin Luther King Leadership Development Institute. Bro. Robinson is married and has two children.




Bro. David Saunders is a proud Fall 1984 initiate of Nu Chapter. Prior to joining Zeta Theta Lambda, Bro. Saunders was active and very involved with Kappa Omicron Lambda Chapter in Vallejo, California. He holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Lincoln University of Pennsylvania, and a master of education degree from The Pennsylvania State University. A distinguished and experienced non-profit executive, Bro. Saunders has been Executive Director of a YMCA, and Director of Program Development. He is currently Director, Office of Health Equity for the Pennsylvania Department of Health. He has served as a Big Brother through Big Brothers, Big Sisters since 2013, and married to Teresa and is the proud father of two children.


Andrew M. Bradley Scholarship Committee Chair

Bro. Dr. Sterling S. Thompson was initiated at Gamma Upsilon Chapter at Tougaloo College in Tougaloo, MS . At Tougaloo College, Bro. Thompson served as a Committee Chair of several committees, and is Past President and Treasurer of ZTL Chapter. Bro. Thompson graduated from Tougaloo College (B.S.); and, Michigan State University (M.S, & Ph.D.).  

Brother Thompson, a Food Microbiologist worked for The Hershey Company for more than 30 years in the areas of Food Microbiology, and Food Safety and Quality. Following retirement, Brother Thompson founded an independent consulting business in 2016, B & G Safe Food Consulting, LLC serving as President.

In this regard, Brother Thompson serves as a Deacon, Treasurer and Minister of Music at the church he attends. In addition, Brother Thompson represents the fraternity as a member of the Executive Board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region.

Bro. James E. Williams, Jr., Life Member was initiated in Psi Chapter at University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA in 1957. He has served as Charter Member, Theta Theta Lambda, Frankfort, Germany in 1964 and Founder and First President of Mu Beta Lambda in Honolulu in July 1975. Bro. Williams graduated from West Chester State Teachers College, West Chester, PA with a BS in ED (Secondary Social Studies and Geography) in May 1959 and received his MS in ED (Secondary School Administration) at Siena College, Londonville, NY in May 1968.


A prostate cancer survivor since 1991, Bro Williams is Principal, Jim Williams and Associates, Camp Hill, PA - a consulting firm specializing in human resources management, prostate cancer awareness, education and advocacy. Prior to launching Jim Williams and Associates, Jim was the Operations Manager, Human Resources, Penn State Geisinger Health System – The Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA. Other professional experiences include Director, Human Resources, American Bar Association at their headquarters in Chicago, IL and as a Corporate Personnel Manager, Montgomery Ward and Company, Inc. in Baltimore, MD and at their headquarters in Chicago. He retired from the United States Regular Army as a full colonel prior to joining Montgomery Ward. He also has been active in the community. In this regard, he currently serves as Chairman, Pennsylvania Prostate Cancer Coalition (PPCC). Bro. Williams is married and has three children.

Bro. Derrick S. Wright, Jr. was made via the Mighty Gamma Nu chapter, the 78th House of Alpha, seated at The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State), University Park. He is #4 on the Fall 2014 line known as "The Ennead of Anarchy". Bro. Wright was born and raised in Baltimore, MD. He received his high school diploma (2011) from the Boys Latin School of Maryland, and a BS (2015) degree from Penn State, University Park in Criminology. Immediately following college, Bro. Wright held executive positions in retail management. Currently, Bro. Wright is pursuing a master's degree in counselor education at Penn State, University Park. He works directly with underrepresented students as Penn State Cultural Center staff. The Center is named for Bro. Paul Robeson (Nu Chapter, 1919), and is known as the Paul Robeson Cultural Center (PRCC).
